Lionel continued to cruise on his 2nd lap of the run, although Chris Leiferman was running a 1:12 working to chase him down.
Heather Jackson a prior Oceanside Champion finished 4th.
Although moving strong for the first 23 miles, Jan Frodeno had a flat. Jan commented "Stuff Happens" and said his hands were too cold to get the tired changed. Jan rode out the bike course and then dropped out at T-2.
Although the athletes likely did not the notice the spectacular scenery, it was a great day for a race.
