Ottawa International Triathlon reveals 2017 course maps for national championships this summer

For athletes racing national short course championships this year, here are your course maps.

For the second year in a row, Ottawa International Triathlon will host the Canadian Standard and Sprint Distance Triathlon Championships in our national capital’s downtown core. This year marks a special date for the country with Canada’s 150th birthday, and the race hopes to draw as many participants and spectators as possible to celebrate. On Monday, they released the course maps for all the races scheduled to take place this year including the CAMTRI elite, U23 and juniors cups, the Ontario Youth Triathlon and the Kids of Steel Triathlon.

The age-groupers’ course will start on the beach of Dow’s Lake, as it did last year, and utilize the lake for the 750- and 1,500-metre looped swim courses. Sprint distance athletes will complete one of the two double out-and-back loops on the bike course and two loops of the run while standard distance athletes will complete two and four, respectively:

The course for the standard (Olympic) and sprint distance non-drafting championships. Also the course for the draft-legal sprint championships.
