Last night we reported that there won’t be any Ironman races happening in Mont-Tremblant this year. That’s now been confirmed by Ironman for the Ironman 70.3 and 5150 events in June, but there’s no official word from the Ironman head office in Tampa with regards to the full-distance race in August. Here’s a release the company distributed at 1 pm EST:

Based on the mandate from the government of Quebec in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic to cancel festivals and all cultural & sporting events through August 31, the 2020 IRONMAN 70.3 Mont-Tremblant and IRONMAN 5150 triathlon, originally scheduled for June 20-21 will not take place in 2020 and have been rescheduled to June 26-27, 2021. All registered athletes of the 2020 IRONMAN 70.3 Mont-Tremblant and IRONMAN 5150 triathlon will be receiving an email with further information.

Additionally, the 2020 IRONMAN Mont-Tremblant triathlon, originally scheduled for Aug. 23, 2020 will not take place as planned. We are working diligently on all potential options for IRONMAN Mont-Tremblant and further event details will be communicated to athletes as soon as available

In what has been a continually evolving and challenging time globally, we recognize that this may come as a disappointment but look forward to providing athletes with an exceptional race experience in the future.
