Gallery: 2016 Ironman 70.3 World Championship in Mooloolaba, Australia

The world’s top half distance triathletes converged in Mooloolaba on Australia’s Sunshine Coast over the weekend for this year’s Ironman 70.3 World Championship. Tim Reed was proud to take the victory on the men’s side on home turf and the UK’s Holly Lawrence delivered an impressive and unexpected performance on the women’s side. Both captured their first world title. Canada had several top-ranked pros in the field including Heather Wurtele, who earned her third world championship podium in as many years and Lionel Sanders who ran away to a ninth place finish.

Besides exciting showdowns and top performances, Mooloolaba also offered one of the most beautiful venues for a world championship race. Check out our gallery below.
