One of Canada’s strongest long course male triathletes is Guelph, Ontario’s Cody Beals who is know for shattering bike course records and giving fans the ultimate inside look at his life as a pro though his blog.

Beals revealed his full race calendar for the 2017 season on Facebook on Monday. Building on his wins at Ironman 70.3 Ecuador and Ironman 70.3 Eagleman last summer, Beals plans to return to defend his titles (Eagleman for the second time) at those races this year.

In an effort to begin increasing his race distance as he approaches full distance racing in the future, Beals plans to target the long course race at this summer’s ITU Multisport World Championships in Penticton, BC. Beals raced the event at world in Oklahoma City last summer and took fifth in his first attempt at the distance, which is between a half and full.

We’re also excited to see Beals line up in the always-stacked field at Ironman 70.3 Mont-Tremblant.

He begins his season next month in Mexico with Ironman 70.3 Campeche, which has yet to release its full pro line-up.
