5 upcoming June triathlons to kick off your race season

Upcoming triathlons across Canada perfect for beginners, those looking for a warm-up race and those itching to get the race season started.

With June just around the corner, Canadian triathletes are getting ready to race this year. If you’ve got some later season races planned and are keen to test yourself in the coming weeks, here’s a round-up of some early season triathlons taking place across Canada that you can still sign up for to kickstart your racing season.

June 3rd: Wine Capitol of Canada Triathlon

This Okanagan Valley triathlon offers sprint and Olympic distances on a scenic bike course and flat out-and-back run course so you can test your speed in Western Canada’s stunning country. Registration and more info available here.

June 4th: Subaru Triathlon Series — Milton triathlon and duathlon

Taking place at Kelso Conservation Area in Milton, Ontario, this triathlon and duathlon offers try-a-tri and sprint distance options as well as swim/bike and relay events. Find out more here.

June 11th: Triathlon Defi-Optimiste de Lachine

This Quebec race takes place outside of Montreal in Parc Lasalle, Lachine and offers a sprint distance race with a pool swim. Athletes 16 years and older can register. Find out more here.

June 11th: Hampton Ladies Triathlon

This New Brunswick ladies’ triathlon offers a non-intimidating environment perfect for newcomers to the sport. There is still time to register though the event has sold out the past two years so interested athletes should secure their place soon.

June 18th: Tri for Evan

Calgary’s Tri for Evan triathlon offers an event for kids as well as a sprint triathlon and duathlon. The race honours Evan, a 12-year-old boy who suffered a brain injury as a result of mitochondrial disease, and is a celebration of healthy, active living in the community. Find out more here.
