15 thoughts when completing an Ironman

The highs and lows of completing an Ironman

An Ironman can last anywhere from eight hours to 17 hours. That’s a lot of time to be exercising, and naturally, you’re going to think about a lot. Whether you just completed your first Ironman or 248th, here are 15 of the most entertaining thoughts we’ve encountered.

“The day is finally here. I am ready. Let’s do this.”

“Why is the pavement wet? No one has gone into the water yet. Are you kidding me? I’m standing in some other guy’s piss.”

“Just keep swimming,” the first 3.8K is a warm-up anyway. Right?

How am I not on my bike yet?

I am finally on the bike!

“Seriously? Why are you drafting bro? Do it yourself.”

“I want my special needs bag. I want my Snickers bar and Coke.”

“Volunteers are awesome!”

“Okay, I just want to talk to someone.”

“If I finish the bike in this time, and run this time, I could break ‘x’ hours.”

“My legs really, really, hurt right now.”

“Why am I doing this?”

“Screw it, I’m walking.”

“You are almost there.”

“What? Is that the finish line?”
