Triathlon power couple Eric Lagerstrom and Magali Tisseyre recently returned to Tisseyre’s hometown of Mont Tremblant for a short training camp in one Canada’s triathlon hotspots. Lagerstrom, a high-ranked American ITU athlete and Tisseyre, one of Canada’s best female long distance triathletes in the half distance, both have some major races left in 2016 and decided to switch things up from their usual training base in southern California.

“I really enjoyed training in Mont Tremblant for the one week we spent there before Ironman 70.3 Tremblant,” Lagerstrom told TMC. “When we were discussing where to train for our block leading into Montreal World Cup (Lagerstrom placed third in the elite men’s race last weekend) and Ironman 70.3 European Championship for Magali, Tremblant made a lot of sense! We actually liked it so much, we’re looking at getting a place there! It would be great to be in the thriving triathlon community, and the training is incredible.

Immediately after we started the camp, Mags hit a rough patch of epic proportions, experiencing nearly every ailment in the triathlon book. As she struggled to put out the fires and stay on track, I kept the workouts rolling and the chicken soup flowing! Finally, in the last week of our three-week camp, she was back on the bike and back to running.

Mags had to pull out of European champs and will now be focusing on Ironman 70.3 worlds and Timberman, while I enjoy the high after Montreal World Cup this past weekend. I think we battled through a rough patch in Tremblant, and we’ve come out the other side stronger, each in our own way. We’re extremely excited to finish the season on a high note!”
