Magali Tisseyre wins the inaugural Ironman 70.3 Mont Tremblant

Romain Guillaume easily secures the men's title.

Canada’s Magali Tisseyre and France’s Romain Guillaume both posted dominant wins today at the inaugural Ironman 70.3 Mont Tremblant.

Tisseyre, of St. Sauveur, Quebec, surrendered seven seconds to swim leader Jenny Fletcher (26:21), but got out on the ride first and hammered out the top ride (2:26:31) and run (1:26:23) to win by just over 15 minutes (4:23:30).  Fellow Quebecker Annie Gervais finished second (4:38:41), and Vancouver’s Gillian Clayton leapfrogged her way into third (4:39:52) with the second best run of 1:28:06).

Guillaume (24:21) trailed New Zealand’s Dylan McNeice (23:37) after the swim but after a quick transition, Guillaume left T1 first and never looked back. He put forth the dominant ride (2:09:15) and run (1:20:54) of the day to squash the field with a time of 3:58:08. Ryan Grant of Ottawa took second (4:10:50), and Calgary’s Grant Burwash grabbed third (4:12:33).
