A local perspective on Ironman Coeur d’Alene

Will the race return after this year's tenth edition? Most likely, but there are some detractors.

This coming June 24th marks the tenth edition of Ironman Ironman Coeur d’Alene in Idaho.

However, the contract is up this year, and a new five-year deal needs to be signed between the city and Ironman in order for the race to continue.

Ironman wants the race to continue, and due to the economic impact, so too does the city.

More locals compete in the race each year, but some locals don’t think it provides such an economic boost, and others are simply irritated by increased cyclists on the roads. The local perspective is certainly interesting.
