Montreal-based Kyla Rollinson is a high performance triathlon coach currently working with development and national team triathletes from around Canada who comprise her “Karma Squad”. Team member Jeremy Obrand recently filmed gathered footage from the squad’s altitude training camp down in Cuenca, Ecuador for a short film that creatively showcases what these high performance athletes have been working on ahead of the 2017 race season.

Olympian Tyler Mislawchuk, who recently joined the group, shared with us a bit about the group’s experience training at altitude in the southern hemisphere.

The training block in Cuenca was focused on aerobic endurance work. At altitude it takes very little effort to raise the heart rate, thus it makes it a perfect place to log some long easy miles,” he says. “Cuenca is a hidden gem in the endurance community that has everything an athlete could need. At 2500m above sea level it is the perfect place to build a foundation for the year to come.”
