What on earth is an x-bionic sphere?

Last week Challenge-Family announced “The Championship,” a half-distance event to take place at the x-bionic sphere in Samorin, Slovakia. Here’s  a video and slideshow about the x-bionic sphere:

The first part of the facility put together was the “equestosphere,” which hosted an Olympic trials event last year that required stables for 800 horses.

Finished earlier this year was the elaborate aquatic facilities, a fully equipped gym, an impressive weight room, luxurious spa facilities and an impressive hotel. In a few weeks the track and soccer stadium will be finished up. Set in the heart of Europe, the facility, which is just outside the village of Samorin, is easily accessible to airports in Vienna, Austria and Bratislava, Slovakia. It’s within a three-hour flight from anywhere in Europe.

The brainchild of Mario Hoffman, a Slovakian Olympian, the x-bionic sphere will no-doubt become a training haven for a variety of elite athletes and teams.
