The K-Town Triathlon celebrated its 30th Anniversary this past August, and on August 2, 2014 it will mark its 31st year under the new ownership of MultiSport Canada.

“We created MultiSport Canada with the philosophy that it was going to be a welcoming environment,” said John Salt to CKWS TV, pointing out that racers should not notice much change from previous years.  “It was always going to be customer focused and customer driven and most importantly work with the communities that were helping us host the races. ”

The K-Town Triathlon started in 1984 and it was just supposed to be a one time only event. The popularity of the race grew and organizers chose to keep the event alive. Olympians Simon Whitfield and Sharon Donnelly are some of the few notable names that have raced this classic Ontario race.

The marquee event is the Long Course Triathlon: 2 km swim, 56 km bike, and 15 km run.

Further announcements will be made on MultiSport Canada’s website.
