Magog to host National Triathlon Championships

If you’re still setting your race calendar, you may want to book off July 19 through 20. The Quebec triathlon club Tri-Memphre will host more than 1,500 of the country’s top elite, paratriathlon, under-23, junior and age group triathletes  looking to capture the national title at the 2014 National Triathlon Championships. Magog hosted the triathlon during the 2013 Canada Games to much success with athletes swimming in the beautiful Lac Memphemagog.

Age group triathletes will have the opportunity to earn one of 10 spots, in each distance  to qualify for the 2015 World Triathlon Championships in Chicago. Athletes hoping to qualify for the World Championship  must be a full member of their provincial triathlon federation prior to the National Championships.

The full weekend of racing includes:

Pan American Cup Elite (PATCO)
Elite Sprint National Championships
Under-23 National Championships (Sprint)
Junior National Championships (Sprint)
Paratriathlon National Championships
Youth National Championships (13-15 years)
Age Group National Championships (Sprint and Standard)

Sprint Triathlon (2015 World Triathlon Championship Qualifying Race – 10 Spot per AG Category available – 750m Swim, 20km Bike, 5km Run)

Olympic Triathlon (2015 World Triathlon Championship Qualifying Race – 10 Spot per AG Category available – 1500m Swim, 40km Bike, 10km Run)

Paratriathlon Championships (2015 World Triathlon Championship Qualifying Race –  750m Swim, 20km Bike, 5km Run)
