Triathletes seeking lots of ventilation and added safety in their lightweight racing helmet will love Giro’s  new Aerohead helmets with MIPS technology, available this summer. The brand pioneered the original aero helmet, the Advantage, in 1985 and has taken huge technological leaps with their products ever since.

The new Giro Aerohead MIPS and Giro Aerohead Ultimate MIPS feature the fastest aero helmet shape the brand has ever tested.

“The Aerohead MIPS is our fastest helmet ever and represents the culmination of everything we have learned over the past 30 years,” says Giro’s Director of Helmet R&D, Rob Wesson. “In addition, we have been able to integrate MIPS to provide more protection in certain impacts, as well as including the Roc Loc Air fit system and hydrophilic padding to improve ventilation and cooling.”

The helmets offer proven reduced drag and thanks to the TeXtreme carbon fibre shell, the Ultimate MIPS has a further reduced frontal, making it the fastest shape yet. The helmets both have four wind tunnel vents, a removable vented eye shield and weigh in at just 455 grams. The Ultimate includes a pod for travelling.

The  Giro Aerohead MIPS and Ultimate MIPS will be available later this summer and sell for $250 USD and $550 USD respectively. They come in many different colour options.
