Challenge Walchsee-Kaiserwinkl to stage ETU half distance champs in 2016

The European Triathlon Union and Challenge Family announced that Challenge Walchsee-Kaiserwinkl (Austria)  will be the host for the 2016 ETU European Half Distance Triathlon Championships to be held on August 21, 2016. The race showcases the stunning Tyrolean tourist region.

Challenge Family CEO Zibi Szlufcik said in the press release that he was delighted by venue. “Challenge Walchsee-Kaiserwinkl has for several years now stood out for its brilliant organization down to the last detail and its breathtaking course through the incredibly beautiful Walchsee-Kaiserwinkl triathlon region,” said Szlufcik.

Challenge Family has also confirmed that Challenge Poznań in Poland will be the host for the 2016 ETU European Long Distance Triathlon Championships on July 26.

In addition to the elite champs, the ETU European Age Group Championships will also take place, along with paratriathlon. Athletes can test out the course at this year’s Challenge Walchsee on August 23, 2015. There will be qualifying spots for European Championships on offer.
