Andrew Starykowicz posts inspirational video marking his comeback to racing after collision

The 10-time Ironman champion posts an inspirational video to Twitter marking his comeback to triathlon after a brutal collision with a truck last summer.

Last August, one of the most well-known American pros in long course triathlon, Andrew Starykowicz, was hit by a truck while on a training ride. After months out of the sport to recover, he revealed on Twitter that he plans to make 2017 his “comeback year” and posted an inspirational video updating fans on his progress.

In his video, Starykowicz explains the details of his collision, including how he was dragged behind the truck and then heard it sprint away, leaving him on the road.

“It’s not about how hard or how far you get knocked down, it’s about how high you rise when you get back up,” he says.

Starykowicz is a 10-time Ironman champion and known to be one of the fastest cyclists in the sport. You can learn more about him on his website.

We wish him continued success in his recovery as he returns to full training and racing.
