Weekend Recap: Laundry wins Rev3 Cedar Point, Beals fourth at IM 70.3 Santa Cruz

Laundry earned first Rev3 win after a season of consistently strong performances

Guelph, Ontario’s Jackson Laundry was thrilled to take the win in the pro race at Rev3 Cedar Point in Ohio over the weekend, clocking 55:13 for the sprint distance. Laundry has been building on a season of great results and is a excited to make his half-distance debut at next weekend’s Multisport Canada Barrelman in Welland, Ontario.

Laundry finished 30 second over the runner-up. His 15:49 run split for the 5 km distance and 25:21 bike split for the 20 km were the fastest of the day. He was joined in the field by fellow Canadian David Hopton, who placed fourth.

He is the current leader for Multisport Canada’s popular Recharge with Milk series in southern Ontario.

Beals takes fourth at Ironman 70.3 Santa Cruz

Cody Beals narrowly missed the podium at Ironman 70.3 Santa Cruz, finishing fourth behind a strong field of Austria’s Michael Weiss, France’sDenis Chevrot and USA’s Ben Hoffman.

Beals had consistently strong splits across the board, clocking 25:06 for the swim, 2:09:59 for the bike and 1:13:35 for the run. He heads into the ITU Long Course World Championship in Oklahoma on September 24th which he chose as his A race this season instead last weekend’s Ironman 70.3 World Championship.
