Kristen Marchant is no stranger to the podium, regularly winning local races like Barrelman and the K-town Triathlon as well as the 20 t0 24 age group twice at world championships. This year, she’s changing things up and moving from local racing to some larger races with deeper pro fields.

In this video, Marchant tells TMC about her early season training this year, self-coaching and increasing the intensity. She also talks about the struggles of trying to make a living as a rookie pro and the support she’s getting as a high performance member of her tri club, C3.

Marchant will be racing REV3 Knoxville this weekend and then Ironman 70.3 Eagleman after that on June 12th.

Check out our full profile of Marchant in the next issue of Triathlon Magazine Canada.
