Jennie Hansen defended her title, while Jordan Monnink secured the overall win after finishing second twice before at the 4th Annual Rev3 Niagara Falls Barrelman, presented by Keystone Communications.

Defending champion, Alex VanderLinden led men (25:46) out of the calm waters of the Welland International Flatwater Centre. During the bike, Monnink caught up to VanderLinden, and both rode together for the majority of the 86 km bike course (shortened due to road construction). Within the final kilometres of the bike course, Daniel Clarke charged to the front and entered T2 first with the top ride of 2:02:59. Clarke, Monnink, and VanderLinden headed out on the 21.1 km course together, as the temperatures rose, setting the stage for a great men’s battle. Monnink eventually took control of the race and finished with the top run of 1:22:30 to claim his first Barrelman title after finished second in 2016, and 2015.

Monnink swam 28:00, biked 2:05:06, and ran a race best 1:22:30 to finish in 3:58:33.
