Ironman and Ironman 70.3 Canada recipients of 2016 Athlete’s Choice Awards

For the first time ever, Ironman has released the top 10 scoring events in a variety of categories based solely off athlete surveys from all of their 2016 races globally.

They announced this today and both Subaru Ironman Canada and Subaru Ironman 70.3 Canada ranked in the top 10 in multiple categories (including a top honour). Given that in 2016, there were 40 Ironman and 96 Ironman 70.3 events globally so this is a major credit to Whistler.

Subaru Ironman Canada was selected 3rd in Overall Satisfaction, tied for 6th in Best Overall Swim, selected 4th in Best Overall Bike, selected 8th in Best Overall Run, and tied for 10th in Best Host City Experience.

Subaru Ironman 70.3 Canada was selected 1st in Best Overall Swim, 2nd in Best Overall Bike, tied for 7th in Best Overall Run, 9th for Best Race Venue Experience, and 3rd for Best Host City Experience.

Over 55,000 athletes responded to the survey.
