Ironman announced this morning that they have awarded the 2019 70.3 world championships to Nice, France.

The event will take place on Saturday, September 7 and Sunday, September 8, 2019. In addition, there will be an inaugural Ironman 70.3 event held in Nice on September 16, 2018 as a kick-off for the world championship event a year later.

The course is expected to follow sections from Ironman France, one of the marquee M-Dot races in Europe. Known for its steep alp climbs and beautiful panoramic scenery, the full distance race has earned several Athlete’s Choice awards including best bike course and best race venue. We expect the 70.3 race to be equally excellent.

Check out highlights from the full distance Ironman France in this video below, for a glimpse at what the course for the 70.3 will look like. We’ll have more info as it becomes available from Ironman.
