Death at Ironman Mont-Tremblant

According to multiple sources including La Presse and the Ironman Mont-Tremblant Facebook page, an athlete passed away Tuesday morning after Sunday’s race.

Ironman’s press release reads:

“We are profoundly saddened to confirm the death of one of our athletes today following the Ironman Mont-Tremblant triathlon. The athlete required medical attention during the run potion of Sunday’s race and was transported to a nearby hospital. Our condolences go out to the athlete’s family and friends, whom we will continue to support during this difficult time.”
