Daniel Clarke: Self coaching 101

For my entire 5 years in triathlon I’ve been self-coached.  That doesn’t mean that nobody’s helped me, but I’ve never had a coach.  In this video I don’t actually give you a plan because that will be very dependant on your time and goals.  If you want to see a sample of my weeks check out Vlog 002 where I show what my training week at the time looked like.  Also, you can see all my workouts on Strava.  Instead, I’ve put together 4 tips for anyone considering going the self-coaching route: 1. Get Trainer Road. 2. Ask other athletes for help. 3. Be honest with your self. 4. Write your plan down.

Self coaching isn’t for everyone, but it can be a fun and rewarding way to grow as an athlete.
