Showdown for cash at the Lakeside Olympic Triathlon

The Recharge With Milk Triathlon Series introduced the Elite Age Group category this season and the move created exciting racing all summer thanks to the awarding of cash prizes for the Series leaders.

The Elite Age Group raced alongside the Professionals for the cash prizes and Winners of the Men’s and Women’s categories will receive the following payouts: 1st – $1000, 2nd – $750, 3rd – $500, 4th – $250, and 5th – $100.

The top contenders will face off this coming Sunday at the Lakeside Olympic distance triathlon, in a season ending showdown since first place in the men’s and women’s categories will be determined in the final race of the Series.

Orangeville’s Richard Pady is tied for first with Fergus’ Cody Beals heading into the final race. While Aurora’s Paolina Allan is just 20 points ahead of St. George’s Angela Quick.

Movement will also occur in the men’s division from third to fifth. Toeing the start line to earn a bigger share of the cash awards will be Guelph’s Mark Linseman (seventh overall at Ironman 70.3 Muskoka and fourth in the Series standings), Richmond Hill’s Andrew Bolton (third in the standings), and Chatham’s Alexander Vanderlinden.
