Switzerland’s Ronnie Schildknecht crushed the bike course (4:27:42) to take a sizeable lead onto the run where he ran 2:51:29 to cross the finish line in 8:17:13 - a margin of victory of fifteen minutes and fourteen seconds.

Hungary’s Erika Csomor played catch-up all day after a 1:02:12 swim.  She then rode the back up near the front (5:03:47) and ran 3:11:37 to win by just over five minutes (9:20:16). Calgary’s Kelly-Lynn Marcotte finished 12^th (10:18:40) in her Ironman debut.
